Original description from: Godman & Salvin, 1895. Biol. Centr.-Amer., Lep.-Rhop. 2, p. 392; Cosnipata Valley, Peru, H. Whiteley leg. Translation by Peter N. Grishin: "Related to P. thestia, but the common band of the wings is much more narrow, and abbreviated in the hindwings"
